Dan the Skipping Man® School Skipping Days
We provide tailored DTSM skipping days for schools and other organisations. Because we understand that one size very rarely fits all, our service is deeply personalised. The team work with you to create the very best experience for your children, ensuring we maximise both your budget and the fun. And we take the time to listen to you and what you want to achieve before creating a package that’s designed specifically for you. All our days include numerous sessions for your children, CPD training for your team, a wide range of resources and access to our hugely popular YouTube channel. As well as a spectacular end of day Skipping Show performed by the children.
Our standard school skipping day packages
We are experts in what we do and have amazing, formatted skipping days for all ages. As well as mentoring programmes and Skipping Festivals. Our standard package is created (for simplicity) for a single form entry school, if however you’re a smaller school we can offer you half-day workshops. Equally, if you’re a large school we can provide our Skipping Days (as set out below, but covering all your classes) over a number of days, or provide you with multiple coaches. Just get in touch to discuss what you need and we would be delighted to work with you to create the perfect approach for you.
Inclusive sessions, formatted and tailored to age and ability
The DTSM skipping day
- A Dan the Skipping Man® welcome video to inspire children and adults
- Up to 7 classes a day - 1 day per form entry (tailored to age, formatted and expertly planned sessions)
- 30 minute Mid-Day Supervisor training (or an 8th class)
- Mini mentoring for 2-3 older children to learn through the day how to help others (year 4 and above)
- Dan the Skipping Man® inclusive celebration show - The finale - presented by our Team DTSM member, performed by the pupils
Skipping rope options, to help to build the programme
Our ropes are built to last. If each child has a rope for one year, the cost would be just over 1p, per child, per day
Our amazing ropes will help you Skip Every Day, along with the guidance on our Skipping Hub. All our resources can be used with or without a DTSM Day. Getting great DTSM skipping ropes will:
- Allow you to continue and embed the DTSM concept throughout your school for the future
- Aid success and progression with the correctly sized, superior quality ropes
- Allow pupils access to the best resource options, whilst maximising your school budget
- Give your school efficient and varied Active 60 minutes activity
Option 1: Parent funded
Pop-up Shop (on your DTSM Day)
- Parents / the school community can purchase a rope on the playground (only available on DTSM days)
- Our coach will set up in an agreed spot on the playground
- Cash or all cards accepted
- Ropes will be correctly sized and variety of ropes on offer
- We can offer a school subsidised shop option - just ask us how
Option 2: Small school investment, big impact
Ropes to School™ - Class sets for PE or the playground
- A variety of ropes to allow a class to skip, in different ways together
- Packaged up with bulk order discounts already applied
- Available in Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Adult sizes
- With Double Dutch/Long ropes too
- Allows whole classes to skip together
Option 3: Larger investment, stunning impact
Ropes to Pupils™ - A rope for every child
- A fabulous investment in securing your schools long term activity plan
- A rope per child, for home and or school, ensuring an opportunity to Skip Every Day with our YouTube videos
- A bigger investment initially, with superb bulk order discounts, then a small update order as and when needed
- Available in Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Adult sizes
- Allowing the children responsibility for their activity, to reach their goals and earn their Dan the Skipping Man® certificates
Skipping Stars
Our pupil mentoring programme
We also offer something extra special, in order to get your older children inspiring the younger ones. A half-day option where a Team Dan the Skipping Man® coach will deliver a session to 15 older children.
The aim is to enhance their ability to deliver our concepts and skills to the younger years and to act as skipping mentors in the school playground.
This includes how to skip, short ropes skills, pairs skipping, long rope and Double Dutch. A free Dan the Skipping Man® Show is also included.

Our skipping day with the team from Dan the Skipping Man was incredible. We bought every child a new skipping rope for home, but they have all brought them back in to skip at break and lunchtimes. They can't stop skipping!

We provide regular school skipping days for a large number of the schools we work with. Because these help you make the very most of your ropes, as well as always improving the physical and mental health of your children. These follow up days tend to work in the same way, but we replace the initial Mid-Day Supervisor training with other training options. These include our Teacher Team Building Training. This session is designed to develop the expertise of teachers who may be leading skipping as part of PE lessons. We go into detail on the skills and tricks, with a view to simplifying the delivery so that everyone can teach skipping in the best way.
